Re: Ray Wilkins - Talk Sport
1307 let's be up front here you're lying, Oxford has started 3 games for us in the league 1 of which was at home, the rest are all sub appearances for less than 30 minutes and most for less than 10, he's started a couple of games in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League

I don't think you go to games at all but giving you the benefit of the doubt you may go to the odd home game in which case you've seen him play a total of 45 minutes from the start and less than that coming off the bench, staggeringly you've judged a 17 year old on that basis

Forgive me if I think you're an attention seeker that wouldn't recognise a decent footballer if Rio Ferdinand came up and shook you by the hand

North Bank, No, it is based on seeing him live and realising that he has n o football brain ala Titus Bramble.

Please explain why he is the next big thing?

He has done nothing in his brief appearances in first team games including friendlies.

Re: Ray Wilkins - Talk Sport
1307 so you're writing off an 18 year old on the basis of a few clips you've seen of him on a dodgy stream?

Re: Ray Wilkins - Talk Sport
Fact of the matter is Reece Oxfors ain't all that.
Cannot read a game and positionally is atrocious and has not got it in him to be a top CH. He will not make it and we should have taken any money offered.

The crab has always liked to sound 'eloquent'. Too nice to be true. Creepy.
Even when he was 18 and captain of the rent boys he used to say "well Brian (Moore), the lads played tremendously well and showed great character....etc" in the interviews, like he was an old manager.
Then his barnet went like max walls and he got his wish.
Yeh, as already said, he loves putting the first names in his sentences/answers. "Well Marcus/jamie/richard....etc, I thought Jimmy/Emile/Steven endeavoured to create some tremendous...etc etc" Aaaaagggghhhh! Fuck off.

Keep death off the roads.
Drive on the pavement!

The days of players coming through the ranks is over.
The youth players are only being developed to sell on.Surprised they signed up Oxford on a long term deal where he's getting no game time here or at Reading.

agree that the 'matey' thing takes it away from some of the good stuff he says !!

Re: Ray Wilkins - Talk Sport
Naive view.

Argument for more English players per team is a good one if we want a stronger National team and to give more "English" talent a chance in the English leagues. A core of say 5 players per starting 11. But think we are already too far past that point for it ever to be successfully implemented.

Oxford is currently out on loan at Reading and hasn't managed to break into that team. He mentions the Chelsea youngsters and Rashford - who have all been given opportunities but yet to find consistency.

But the honest truth is at the minute its a Utopian view these youngsters are ready, no big European sides are made up of youngsters making breakthroughs from their local sides. To get to the top, you have to match the best or buy the best.
